Click one of the following links to see the details of each section of the plan: Crime Education Reform Economic Development Good Government Reform Judicial Reform Coastal Restoration COASTAL RESTORATION South Louisiana’s environment, economy, and very existence are at risk due to coastal erosion. The vanishing coast hinders our economy by destroying fisheries and potentially reduces oil revenues going to the state. More crucial is the potentially devastating threat posed by a Hurricane approaching our diminished coastline--- it would take at least a decade for our area to recover from a direct hit by a category 5 hurricane. Coastal erosion has multiple causes and therefore the solution will have to be multi-faceted. If elected I will work to: 1. Enhance the number and scope of Mississippi River Diversion projects so that the forces of nature that created our region can be allowed to rebuild our marshes and coast. 2. Limit the number of salt water intrusion channels through the marshes, since these channels allow further deterioration of our fragile marshes. 3. Prevent frivolous litigation and other money grabs from interfering with restoration efforts. 4. Continue the state’s efforts at wetland preservation through wildlife management.
